I’ve been coming here for well over 20 years, but haven’t been back since before the pandemic. I was in the neighborhood, so I swung by, and was thrilled to see that they have survived.
It’s a very simple procedure. You go down a buffet line, picking out your meat, noodles, veggies, and your sauces at the end. They have a “recipe sheet”, so you can get an idea of how to pick your sauces. You then hand your bowl to the chef, and he cooks it up on a large circular grill. A meal *and* a show.
The meat, noodles, and the veggies are very fresh, and very delicious. The prices are *very* reasonable. Lunch is during the week from opening to 4, and dinner prices, which are only a little bit more, are from 4 PM forward during the week, and all day on the weekends. Lunch, you get one bowl, dinner is a few more items on the line, and it is all you can eat. I’ve perfected the art of “smashing my bowl down” as I go along, so for me, one bowl *was* all I could eat. 🙂 You also get a small bowl of soup, some won tons with sweet and sour sauce, and rice.
The employees are very nice, and the decor of the place is very simple, but hey… I’m there for the food, not the decor. I was very satisfied, and am glad that they are still open. I will definitely be back. Thanks!!

I use to live in Sacramento from 2014-2021, this place was always one of my go to’s. I came back after two years and it is still the same place I fell in love with. The scenery could be touched up a bit, but it’s super old school which makes it feel so homey. Workers are super nice . Food is amazing, I always fill my bowl up and go back for seconds. Definitely one of my favorites and definitely recommend.

This place is great! I wish I had known about it sooner!!
Staff is very nice and super attentive. We were sat right away, we came just before the rush so we got lucky and scored a booth! We were craving Mongolian beef but weren’t sure if there was a local place not in the mall. Thankfully, Yelp helped us find Golden Bowls.
They have all the protein options: pork, beef, chicken, and even turkey. I do wish there were a few more veggie options but this is a small family owned restaurant, so all the popular veggies are available. They do an all you can eat from 3pm-8pm during the week, but honestly we couldn’t get through the first bowl. Which gratefully they let you take home – hahah! Done-in gets an appetizer, soup, rice, and ice cream included in the price – $15! Great deal!
We will definitely be back, a new staple for us!

I used to come to this place as a kid, and coming back 15 years later, it’s still delicious! Such sweet staff! Would definitely recommend if you like mongolian food. Come get the all you can eat around dinner time!
